LeMans
The 24 Hours of leMans has allowed hybrid race cars in the LMP Prototype category for many years. Cascadia Motion is active in supporting several different teams and constructors in this exciting endurance race series. |
Formula One
Cascadia Motion is a proud supplier of ERS system components to three teams in Formula One. We have supplied KERS and now ERS systems since the 2009 season when Formula One first allowed hybrid propulsion systems. Today, 1/3rd of the tractive effort of the F1 car comes through the power electronics. If the ERS system fails the race is over. Because of this, the quality and reliability requirements are extremely high, well beyond what is used in military weapons systems or commercial aviation! |
Specialty Vehicles
Cascadia Motion supplies products for many specialty vehicles. Whether its inverters, motors, batteries or more, we have what you need to get you moving ahead of the rest. The team at Cascadia Motion can develop a custom inverter or modify a low cost standard product. We serve large teams as well as grassroots race vehicle constructors and can support both kinds of customers with the tools and the information you need at a reasonable cost.

Hillclimb
Monster Tajima took First Place at the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb in the Electric Vehicle Class in 2013. This unit used 4 of our PM150DZR inverters, one at each wheel, with peak power just under 800kW. Tajima-san was back on the hill in a later year and managed a second place OVERALL - both the first and second place electric vehicles beat every other vehicle on the hill including the Unlimited Class vehicles. Note that this was the first time, ever, that the EVs have beaten everything else at Pikes Peak. That car used four PM250DZ inverters and managed just over 1MW of peak tractive effort. In 2019 we campaigned our own car in partnership with Palatov Motorsport and driver Greg Tracy. The car featured many products from our catalog and had over 1MW of power on tap. With a 2nd place finish in class and 9th overall, it was a great showing for a brand new car. |
Rallye
This installation was a series hybrid truck that saw rugged action. All stages were completed without a problem from the propulsion system and the truck completed the rallye with competitive times. With extreme operating conditions including submerged water crossings, excessive super-fine dust and operating in ambient temperatures of up to 45C, Cascadia Motion product not only endured but thrived. |
Land Speed Record
“Green Envy” is an electric streamliner motorcycle, and it is being built to become the world’s fastest motorcycle. Green Envy is being built by Eva Hakansson, her husband Bill Dubé, and a team of volunteers. Cascadia Motion is proud to supply product to Eva and her team! The bike's predecessor was ridden by Eva to many world records. |
Drag Racing
Cascadia Motion was proud to supply four PM250DZ inverters for Huff Motorsports electric drag car. At 201.07 mph it captured the record on May 14, 2020 as the world's fastest dragster in the quarter mile. |
